Guest TommyOliver
I have a question that may sound kind dumb but I am rather new to using mega so please forgive the possible ignorance. I was under the impression that if i open a link to a file stored on mega.nz and I import it to my megasync file which is synced with a folder on my desktop that the monthly fee I pay for mega includes what I'm downloading, where as if a person doesn't import the file to their account and just chooses to download that would take from the person who uploaded the file, is correct? I only ask because if what I transfer to my account then download is using more than just the data I'm paying for but is also taking from the uploader or the site i think it is very understandable to implement a minimum upload to continue to have access to the site. Also asking because I don't want to be a dick and just take because any time i've checked the requests for files to be uploaded the ones i had where already fulfilled and I don't want to be a freeloader . Downloading from the links doesn't use the uploaders data. Instead if you are logged in it will take from your monthly download data. 1 TommyOliver reacted to this Quote TommyOliver 5 hours ago, Baxzors said: Downloading from the links doesn't use the uploaders data. I would like to add that there is also an option for a MEGA user to share their monthly data transfer with people downloading their files. This option needs to be explicitly enabled. This might have been the source of confusion for you @TommyOliver. 1 TommyOliver and Baxzors reacted to this TommyOliver Members Posted 4 hours ago 4 hours ago, SirKenros said: I would like to add that there is also an option for a MEGA user to share their monthly data transfer with people downloading their files. Thank you @SirKenros that is exactly where where it came from and I was racking my brain trying to figure out why I had thought what I did and as soon as I read your reply i remembered seeing that option in mega settings.
