Tag posts and search by person

This is already an option. You can go to https://nsfwmega.com/search/ and click on "Search by Tags" to search for tagged stars. Tags are also listed under the title of posts, such as the "suggestion" tag for this post.

Edit: Though after further investigation, this is not a rule and is not as widely adopted by users. I think that searching by tags is the best way to conduct searches of the site, so I am here and now proposing two new rules for the community:

  • Posts that include actors/actresses in the title must also be tagged with those actors/actresses.
  • Posts must be tagged by the according site and/or network.

An example of this would be the following post I have previously made:

The actress, network, and site are all tagged accordingly. Users can easily click on any of those tags for a broader search of either the actress, network, or site. This might not need to be a requirement for site itself as users can just browse through the site subforum, however I do see this as a necessity for stars (where you get all of their content in one easy click) or networks (where it shows all sites in the network together, rather than browsing through each subforum individually).

The proposed rules are sensible and straightforward for members to follow — you have my vote. I have already been requesting contributors to add the tags for starring models (something I have long considered must-have) but did not request the addition of network and site tags as the content is already organised into sub-forums based on them, as you have also already mentioned. However, I don't see any problems with requiring them too.

There is one fundamental issue with searching by tags though. It doesn't provide an autocomplete functionality. @Da Chief of Staff, is it possible to add that?

All posts should have the actor/actresses already in the title, However adding them as a tag hasn't really been needed from what I have seen. Since you can search them normally and you will find all the content. The reason for vr tag etc is that you can't search less than 3 characters, 720 tag for example gives less return with normal search.

However I think that should be pretty easy thing to add to the upload/posting workflow. We can of course add it to the posting guidelines, even though I don't really see it as necessary, but I can be proven wrong on that.

And as stated by @SirKenros with the forum layout already being organized into sub-forums I think it would just be a hassle to include the site/subforum as tag, you can also search inside a particular forum you're in for the scene/actress/quality you want. Just press on the search bar and choose "This Forum". (You might have to add the website from the advanced search if it's not working.)

For example search for the tag 1080 in a network and you will display all the scenes in 1080. Or search them all 8k 4k 1080 720 480 and get all the content listed from all the sub-forums. This is probably the way you meant with having all the content listed from the whole network.

Searching Ava Addams brings up results for different Ava's and different Addams. Searching "Ava Addams" with quotations fixes this issue.

But perhaps I am only looking for the content of 2 stars: Adriana Chechik and AJ Applegate. Maybe that's my sole purpose for being here (sounds strange but not unreasonable). Now in the past, when searching stuff the search has prompted me to try using AND and OR text in my search. I'm not sure why it recommends this as the AND and OR functions are controlled by radio buttons when clicking "More search options". I've tried &&, &, AND, etc. nothing works for the AND function (similarly for the or function -- ||, |, OR).

So by searching "Adriana Chechik" OR "AJ Applegate", I get 0 results. By trying to have both names in quotations ("Adriana Chechik" "AJ Applegate"), even with "Any of my search term words" selected for finding the results, I still get 0 results. You can see at the end of the URL that the search is attempting an OR function because of my selecting the "Any terms" radio button, but still it doesn't seem to work correctly using phrases.

In comparison, doing everything the same but using tags rather than quoted phrases, I get 51 results. So unless there's a way to divide up multiple phrases so it works with the OR function of the search, I think the tags are the way to go.

Your solution to typing 1080 720 480 in search resolves the other issue for searching in a network, so the network tags aren't necessary in that regard.

---

Interestingly though, I stumbled upon the fact that prefix tags do not work properly with searching across a network. So simply typing 1080 and searching in the Brazzers network, my posts with 1080 prefixed are the first to show in results. However, when trying to search just the 1080 tag, none of my prefixed posts (or any for that matter) show up in the results. Strange bug, but again this isn't much of an issue, and people aren't prefix tagging stars for their posts, they are tagging the quality as the prefix. It only seems to be an issue when searching within a subforums, but not when doing a site search for a tag.

Forgive me if this is already a thing, but is it possible to add tags in a post replying to an original topic?

This might make it easier to update older items without tags if users who are browsing want to do a good deed and add them in.  It would also give another option for less active users like myself, who are unable to upload or donate, a means to contribute in a meaningful way.

Unfortunately, there is no such feature. It would be a great one to implement for the reason you've stated and it also enables crowdsourcing the tags.
